Thank you to everyone who supported my grassroots campaign for City Council. Although I did not win this highly competitive race with 5 candidates, I do feel that seizing the opportunity to represent progressive ideas and ideals in the public dialogue made this a very successful effort. Relationships crystallized that I'm sure will further grow, deepen and evolve in the coming months and years. Personally, I intend to continue my work in community-based environmental, social justice and youth empowerment advocacy to help move the city, people and environment of Santa Fe forward. We face major challenges that require bold vision, strategic planning and cooperation among diverse community partners. If you have a project or idea that might benefit from collaboration and/or consultation with me, don't hesitate to reach out. My yearlong 2013-14 fellowship with Real Food Challenge concludes this summer and I am seeking new employment and opportunities. Let's move Santa Fe forward together!

Recipient of a 2013 Sustainable Santa Fe award for local environmental advocacy, Jeff E. Green is currently working as southwest regional coordinator for the Real Food Challenge, a national movement focused on increasing college student access to healthy, sustainable and locally grown food.
Jeff has also worked part-time as a substitute teacher with Santa Fe Public Schools, and he has received national recognition for his efforts advocating for school gardens ("A Garden At Every School") to engage students of all ages with hands-on experiential learning in ecology, nutrition and sustainable food production skills.
Academically, Jeff has completed a bachelors degree in history and political science at Rutgers University, a graduate degree in K-12 teaching at Northern New Mexico College, a semester of study abroad at the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, and permaculture design certification through the renowned Earth Activist training.
Jeff's political experience includes serving as Student Senate president at his college, getting a constitutional amendment passed in the 2013 New Mexico legislature on behalf of student empowerment, and successful advocacy on the city, county and state levels for "Right To Know" labeling that would enable New Mexico consumers to know when genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are present in the food supply. Jeff has also been appointed to serve on a Santa Fe Food Policy Council subcommittee, and he's trained in community rights advocacy through the groundbreaking "Democracy School" presented by Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund.
Ultimately, Jeff Ethan Green is a community member who's running for City Council because he cares deeply about cultivating a vibrant future of Santa Fe for the children and families who live, work and play in our amazing city. By bringing the community together around innovative and proven progressive ideas, he strives to be a catalyst for holistic solutions to address Santa Fe's educational, economic and environmental challenges. While other candidates are beholden to special interests or stuck in the rigid dogmas and failed excuses of the past, Jeff E. Green embodies the courage, conviction and pragmatic idealism required to move Santa Fe forward!
